Why does the Genre Wikipedia exist?

Genre Wikipedia has already existed before, giving a place for the genre's history to be shared, however it might not have been as known as it could be. As the SCP Verse, we wish to include a wikipedia in our services, which will comprise of all noteworthy genre-based groups (mostly on the subject of recordable history or events).
